CLOVIS, Calif. – San Diego state closed out its final Mountain West Outdoor Championships appearance with a strong three-day showing, highlighted by a meet record from Jenna Fee Feyerabend and four medals on the final day of competition. 

The Aztecs opened the championships with momentum on Thursday as Feyerabend surged to the top of the heptathlon standings after dominating multiple events. The senior standout won the shot put and added runner-up finishes in the high jump and 100m hurdles to build a sizable lead heading into day two. On the track, Anna Mager posted the fastest qualifying time in the 400m hurdles preliminaries with a personal best 58.44, while Lidia Major also advanced to the finals with a PR of her own. SDSU’s Aji Mbye and freshman Keila Bentham both qualified for the 200m final with strong sprint performances.

Friday belonged to Feyerabend. The two-time conference champion captured another gold medal in the heptathlon while setting a new Mountain West Championship meet record, scoring 5,905 points. Her performance capped off another dominant season in the multis and added a major point total for the Scarlet and Black. The Aztecs continued to pile up strong performances throughout the day, with several athletes advancing to Saturday’s finals and positioning themselves for podium finishes in the conference finale.

SDSU finished the meet on Saturday by earning four medals across multiple events. Mager led the way on the track with a silver-medal finish in the 400m hurdles after entering the finals with the fastest qualifying time. Jada Pierre and Charlize James ran away with a gold and silver medal in the 100m hurdles. The Aztecs also received key performances in the sprints and field events as the team closed out its final Mountain West Outdoor Championship appearance on a high note. Overall, the team finished sixth with 64 points. 

The meet showcased the depth of the Aztecs’ roster, from veteran leaders like Feyerabend and Mager to emerging young talent such as Bentham. Competing in the program’s final Mountain West Outdoor Championships, the Aztecs delivered one of their strongest collective performances of the season and added another memorable chapter to the program’s conference legacy. 

The team waits to see which athletes qualify for the NCAA Preliminary Championships, taking place May 27-30.
