Fort Collins, Colo. — SDSU’s women’s basketball team beat the Air Force Falcons 74-57 on Tuesday for their last regular season game of the year. The Aztecs closed out their remarkable regular season with their 19th conference victory and 25th overall win.

The Aztecs started slow, and the Falcons opened with a 7-0 run. However, SDSU was able to storm back behind guard Naomi Panganiban’s 11 first-half points. By the end of the first quarter, they had closed the gap to two points. SDSU outscored Air Force by eight points in the second quarter to put the Aztecs us by halftime, 29-23.

“We didn’t start the best, but I’m really proud of what we were able to do in the second half,” said Head Coach Stacie Terry-Hutson.

SDSU continued their momentum into the second half and found their rhythm offensively. Guard Nat Martinez led the way with 19 points in the second half and a game-high 22 points. The Aztecs finished the game with a remarkable 64.7 percent from the 3-point-line, which helped propel them to their 21st win in 22 games.

As the Mountain West Championship tournament kicks off, the Aztecs will look to take home their second-straight Mountain West Championship trophy.
