The World Fencing League debuted yesterday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The top 12 fencers in the world competed in teams. Team Shield defeated Team Blade, 5-1.
Competition highlights include:
Women’s Foil: Team Shield captain Arianna Errigo of Italy had a comeback 7-5 win over the USA’s Lee Kiefer.
Women’s Épée: Hungary’s Eszter Muhari defeated Alexandra Ndolo of Kenya 11-6.
Women’s Sabre: USA’s Maia Chamberlain had dominant display against Italy’s Michela Battiston.
