🛹 Exposure Skate Camp: Three locals finish in the top six
Competitors traveled from all over to compete in the world’s biggest women’s skateboarding event, and locals finished well. Two of the top Vert Open Pro Finals competitors came from Oceanside: third place Nina Ye and sixth place Heili Servio. Bryce Wettstein from Encinitas finished sixth in the Bowl Open Pro Finals.


Wave FC lost 2-1 to No. 1 Kansas City Current to finish the season in sixth place. Read more here. The team earned a spot in the playoffs and will play the Portland Thorns in Portland on Nov. 9 at 12 p.m. PT on ABC.

⚽ SDSU Soccer Advances to Semis on Wednesday
On Thursday evening’s senior night, SDSU’s come-from-behind victory against New Mexico clinched a playoff spot for the Aztecs, 2-1. San Diegans Mia Lane (Eastlake HS) and Alexis Leath (West Hills HS) scored in the second half, while keeper Kailey Carlen (Learning Choice Academy in Chula Vista) contributed two critical saves.
Leath was named Mountain West Offensive Player and Co-Freshman of the Week.
On Sunday, SDSU defeated Colorado State in the first round of the Mountain West Tournament, 1-0, with Mia Hambro Svendsen scoring in the 81st minute off of an assist by Charlie Gerson.

⚽ UCSD soccer defeated UC Santa Barbara
On senior night, UCSD defeated UC Santa Barbara 1-0 with a goal in the 81st minute by Alexis Nguyen.

🏐 🧹 USD Volleyball Wins 11th Consecutive 🧹
Get out those brooms! Make that 11 straight for USD volleyball who swept Loyola Marymount in three sets on Saturday in Los Angeles (25-15, 25-15, 25-20). Earlier in the week, they handily defeated the University of San Francisco, also a sweep, 25-18, 25-12, 25-18.

Speaking of win streaks, the Sea Lions won their sixth straight and 19th match on the season against Vanguard, 3-1.

🏐 SDSU Volleyball Loses Two Straight
After winning six straight to begin Mountain West play, SDSU has struggled to finish sets, contributing to the team’s losses in five of its last six outings. On Thursday, they lost in four sets to undefeated Utah State, 3-1. On Saturday, they lost to Boise State in four, 24-26, 25-20, 25-19, 25-20.
