SAN DIEGO - Major League Pickleball showed up at Barnes Tennis Center in a big way this past weekend. The excitement from the professional tournament carried beyond just the daytime matches and included pre-tournament events.
Hosted by the San Diego Pickleball Collective in partnership with the Los Angeles Mad Drops Pickleball team, a launch party brought players and pros together for a Thursday evening centered on friendly competition, community, and connection.
From experienced competitors to first-time participants, the gathering highlighted how sport can create meaningful opportunities to build relationships both on and off the court. What LA Mad Drops players called their “first-ever fan rally” set the tone for a weekend of community, competition, and fans packing the stands to cheer on Southern California’s home team.

The Dallas Flash won the event, earning 25 points for their team. California teams SoCal Hard Eights, Los Angeles Mad Drops, California Black Bears and Bay Area Breakers finished 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th respectively. Check out the final standings here.
