🥎 Cellura Named Tournament MVP in Aztecs' Mountain West Championship Victory

🥎SAN DIEGO - San Diego State softball clinched the Mountain West Tournament title with back-to-back 3-1 wins over Fresno State, led by Cece Cellura’s dominant pitching performance and key contributions from Julie Holcomb, Bella Espinoza and Cali Decker. Despite playing with 10 players after a first-half red card, the Wave held strong defensively, highlighted by Kailen Sheridan's milestone 150th NWSL appearance and a crucial second-half save.

🏐 San Diego Mojo’s Venegas and Stone Earn League Honors

🏐 San Diego Mojo Professional Women’s Volleyball— San Diego Mojo libero Shara Venegas was named the 2025 Pro Volleyball Federation Most Inspirational Player, honored for her leadership, resilience, and dedication following the passing of her best friend and teammate Pilar Marie Victoria. On the court, she was one of the league leaders with standout defensive stats, while off the court, she made a lasting impact through youth outreach and community building in Puerto Rico and San Diego. San Diego Mojo middle blocker Ronika Stone was named to the 2025 Pro Volleyball Federation All-League Second Team for the second consecutive year. Stone set a team record with 77 blocks and ranked third in the league. Stone was the only Mojo player to appear in all 111 sets, contributing 294 points, 211 kills, and a .285 hitting percentage across 28 matches. Read more here

FULLERTON, Calif. - UC San Diego's softball team ended their season with a tough 11-7 loss to UC Santa Barbara in an elimination game, finishing with a 16-32 overall record. Despite strong performances from Lily Hermosillo, who went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Alexa DeMarse, who hit a two-run home run, the Tritons' late rally wasn't enough to overcome UCSB's early lead.
