SAN DIEGO - SDSU defeated Boise State 5-1 on Saturday at SDSU’s softball field.
The Aztecs scored two runs in the first off of Angie Yellen’s single up the middle to go up 2-0 when Kaila Pollard and Jade Ignacio scored. Boise countered with a Mya Flindt homerun to center in the second to make it 2-1.
SDSU scored three runs in the third. Ignacio doubled to score Pollard from first. Then Quinn Waiki homered and brought home Ignacio from second to finish the inning 5-1.
Final score: SDSU: 5 Boise State: 1.
Pitcher Key-annah Pu’a earned the win, allowing one run on four hits over five innings.
