The Wave FC won big when their backs were against the wall. They defeated the Chicago Stars, 6-1, to secure a spot in the playoffs with one regular-season game remaining. With another win and some good luck (or bad luck for the teams that the Wave need to lose or tie), the Wave could score home advantage for at least one playoff game. 🎾 ITA Southwest Regional Tennis Tournament
SDSU senior Jo-Yee Chan advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Southwest Regional Tennis tournament with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 defeat of USC’s Eugenia Zozaya Menendez on Sunday. Chan, a business major, transferred from the University of Oregon last year. She rekindled her passion for the game while at SDSU. In the semi-final, she lost in three sets to USC’s Jana Hossam Salah, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. To provide some context, Chan progressed to the final four players from among 128 across 15 universities.
Dylan Parsley is a first-year assistant coach at SDSU “It’s a great tournament,” said Parsley. “It’s great to have these two great campuses [SDSU and USD] bring in high-level, almost pro women that are able to compete.”



Win Streaks Snapped Almost Everywhere
⚽ SDSU soccer dropped to 6-4-5 with home losses to Boise State and Utah State over the weekend. USD (4-3-6) lost a thriller 2-1 to league-leading Pepperdine. UCSD managed to split their home matches with a 1-0 win over Riverside and a 1-0 loss to Cal State Fullerton. Division 2 Point Loma (5-2-3) won 4-1 over Vanguard.
🏐 USD Extends Win Streak to Eight to Lead Conference
The USD Toreros extended their win streak to eight with a 3-0 sweep at Washington State and a 3-1 win at Seattle. The Toreros are perfect (8-0) in West Coast Conference play. Nemo Beach led the team in kills across both matches with 40.
