Exhale. The Wave FC won their first game since Aug 16, 3-2. With the defeat of the Utah Royals, the Wave are in sixth place in the NWSL standings. The top eight advance to the playoffs. Read more about the Wave vs Royals here.

Anders helped the Toreros (4-2-6) defeat Portland (6-3-4), 2-1, before losing a tough one on Saturday to Oregon State (2-7-4), 4-1.


Win Streaks Everywhere
⚽ SDSU soccer (6-2-5) extended their undefeated streak to 10 with a 3-2 defeat over San Jose State (1-10-3). Mia Hambro Svendsen, Alexys Ocampo, and Emma Fuller scored for the Aztecs.
🏐 USD and SDSU Extend Win Streaks to Six to Lead Their Conferences
USD and SDSU volleyball each won two more matches over the weekend to start their conference play with six straight wins. The Toreros swept Portland and came back strong after dropping the first set to Oregon State 3-1. Nemo Beach led the team in kills across both matches with 13 and 23 respectively.

🏊 SDSU Swim & Dive on Fire
The Aztecs captured their 78th (not a typo!) consecutive dual-meet victory since 2018 with a defeat over Pepperdine on Thursday. Then, they won their first-ever Fresno State Invitational over the weekend.

⏱️ Timeout Terminology
Medley. A term to indicate the four strokes swimmers swim within a single event: Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, and Freestyle. SDSU won the 400 medley relay at the Fresno Invitational this week with the team of Abby Storm, Moa Bergdahl, Alli Mann and Alyssa Schiller. The Aztecs won the five-team competition for the first time.
*This week’s trivia answer: 2nd place, 14-4 in the WCC and 19-9 overall. This season, the Toreros are hungry for more and better.
