Wave bounce back against Washington
Keeper Sandra Paños earned her first clean sheet in the NWSL in the Wave 1-0 victory over the Washington Spirit.
Fresh off of a loss, the Wave traveled to face the Washington Spirit on Sunday in need of valuable points. Read about what was at stake for the Wave entering the game here.

The Toreros are golden

At the 2026 FISU America Games, USD’s volleyball program represented Team USA in Peru where the team faced university teams from other countries.
The team went undefeated, taking down Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Argentina, then went on to the gold medal match, sweeping Chile to claim gold!
Setter Kylie Munday was named the most valuable player for indoor volleyball at the games. Congrats to the Toreros and Team USA!
The Athlete’s Commute
A new episode of The Athlete’s Commute has dropped!
Angela Ziff went from a full ride Division 1 track and cross-country athlete at UNLV to a paramedic firefighter in California. She's also the host's sister, which makes this ride a little more personal than most.
In this episode Angela opens up about the eating disorder and osteopenia that led to repeated stress fractures in her foot, and the decision she made her senior year of college to step away from competition and heal. She talks about what it took to rebuild herself for an entirely new kind of physical demand, training as a woman in the fire service, including pushing and dragging full fireground weight.
