The Athlete’s Commute
Catch up on the latest of The Athlete’s Commute with SDSU’s Alexis Leath!
Jourdan picks up the San Diego State soccer player from athletic treatment on campus and drives her to practice. Alexis grew up in San Diego playing indoor soccer, joined club soccer late, and made her way to D1 at SDSU. After tearing her ACL and meniscus early in her freshman season, she came back as a redshirt freshman and finished tied for the team lead in scoring.
On this ride, Alexis takes us through a day in the life of a D1 student athlete, how indoor soccer shaped her game, and the road back from injury. She opens up about nine months of rehab, learning to walk again, and earning her first college start. She highlights the team’s “Committed” mindset as SDSU heads into its first season in the Pac 12.
